HISTORY

As a seventeen-year-old boy, Jan de Braal started work in the technical department of his parents' company. This company was involved in earthmoving, road building and hydraulic engineering. De Braal was responsible for the maintenance of the machinery. The wide variety of engines within the company meant that De Braal learned how to solve all kinds of problems. This experience was very useful when he was asked to repair the engines of fishing vessels in Yerseke (NL) as an independent mechanic later on.

Yerseke Engine Services

In 1990, Jan de Braal decided to start Yerseke Engine Services, a company specializing in repairing and overhauling Caterpillar engines. The business formula comprised personal contact with the customers, good products and rapid service. This formula turned out to be successful and the company grew during the nineties. In 2000, new construction of modern business premises was started on the Olzendepolder industrial site in Yerseke: Kreeft 21.

Antwerp Diesel Repair

De Braal set up a second company at the port of Antwerp in 2001: Antwerp Diesel Repair (ADR). In 2003, the company was given the official marine dealership for Caterpillar in Belgium. ADR's customer offering includes repairs, maintenance, overhaul, re-motorization and new construction of marine engines and generators for inland navigation, fishing vessels, offshore and ocean-going vessels. In 2014, Antwerp Diesel Repair also acquired the official dealership for John Deere.
